The role in brief
Immigration is where most international hires stall. This senior case manager owns complex German cases from first assessment to the residence permit card. You prepare employer applications under the §81a AufenthG fast-track procedure, check recognition status with the ZAB and the relevant chambers, and deal directly with Ausländerbehörden and German missions abroad. You work with recruiters, who need honest answers early, and with relocation consultants, who need permit dates to plan arrivals.
Your days will include
- Assess eligibility for the EU Blue Card, §18a and §18b permits, ICT cards and the Chancenkarte
- Prepare and submit §81a fast-track agreements and follow cases with the competent Ausländerbehörde
- Coordinate Anerkennung: ZAB statements of comparability and professional recognition for regulated roles
- Draft family reunification files and brief families on language requirements and exemptions
- Keep case notes accurate and deadlines visible in the case management system
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of German immigration casework at a law firm, relocation provider or corporate mobility team
- German at C1, as you write to authorities and read their decisions
- Detailed knowledge of the Aufenthaltsgesetz and the Beschäftigungsverordnung
- Experience with Federal Employment Agency (BA) approval steps
- A careful, auditable working style
Helpful, not essential
- Arabic, Turkish, Persian or Hindi
- Experience with procedures at the Ausländerbehörde in Frankfurt am Main
